| I favor some regulation and licensing for home contractors. It's a nightmare out there dealing with them. In the last 3 years, the only one who actually stayed on the job and finished it was Joel Winters. If they had a license to lose and if there was a data base that a customer could consult, that would be important for consumers. I don't like bureaucracy but I don't like paying people when they don't do the work or don't do it correctly. Would you want to go to a doctor or lawyer that was licensed in some way. All regulation isn't stupid. I had a roof done awhile back and it leaked in 4 places. Couldn't get the guy back to fix it and he got all the money. You never know until it rains. I would have loved to put him out of business. I had to pay someone else to fix it so I paid almost twice for the same job. |
